FABRICFUN

FABRICFUN - PASTEL DYE STICK

At last I have found this fabric colour in one of the stationary shop near my office. It's not as expensive as I thought ---> RM6.10 only.

HOW TO USE???

STEP #1 : SELECT THE RIGHT FABRIC

To make the brilliant colours of Fabricfun Pastel Dye Sticks stand out, choose solid white or light coloured fabrics. Fabrics such as cotton, wool or silk are ideal. Avoid those made of 100% synthetic fibre such as nylon, because they are not intended to withstand the temperatures of ironing.

STEP #2 : WASH OUT THE STARCH

All starch must be removed from the fabric so the colours can be absorbed by the fibres and not wash out. Dry the material and iron it to produce a smooth surface. For best results, stretch and pin the fabric to a piece of cardboard or press it firmly and evenly against a smooth, hard surface such as a desk or table.

STEP #3 : APPLICATION

Apply Fabricfun Pastel Dye sticks to the fabric with even strokes in one direction only to ensure a smooth, unbroken layer of colour. Various shadings can be produced by rubbing different colours with your finger tip and blending them together.

STEP #4 : MAKING COLOUR PERMANENT

Once you are satisfied with your design, cover it with a sheet of paper and press over it with a hot iron to set the dyes. Now your design is permanent and washable.

CREATIVE SUGGESTIONS :

Making stencils : For best results in creating complex designs, a stencil of the art or message should be made first. This can be accomplished as follow :

Draw a design on a piece of paper. Tape a sheet of clear plastic (acetate) over it. Carefully cut out the design. Be sure to place a piece of cardboard under the paper to prevent damage to the surface beneath.

Till then... have a nice day :-D
